Considering Nutritional Therapy? Some top tips to get started…
If you’ve been thinking about getting some healthy eating advice to support your health and fitness goals, but were a bit unsure where to start, here are some things its helpful to know:

Firstly, book your (free) intro call with me. These are online and last for about 25 minutes, and will help you to work out whether I’m the right Nutritional Therapist for you.

I will explain the process, the fees, etc, but here are some things it probably useful to know before you come along…

1. Do eat as you normally would – there’s no need to “clean up” your diet to impress me!

There’s no need to  eat “better” than usual. I need to understand your everyday eating and drinking habits so I can put together a bespoke plan that works for you, not an ideal version of you.

This is a judgement-free zone.

2. Don’t start a new diet or elimination plan just before you see me

Similarly – unless you’ve been advised by a health professional – starting something like keto, intermittent fasting, or cutting out gluten or dairy can make it harder for me to understand your usual health and eating patterns. Ideally, I would be able to see what your normal routine looks like.

3. Have a think about your health goals

Take a few minutes to consider what you’d like to get out of our work together. This will help us focus your session and make the most of your consultation.

4. Please don’t start taking supplements without guidance

Taking supplements just because they’re trending, for example might interfere with what I’d suggest – and can even mask or worsen certain issues. Please hold off until we’ve had our initial consultation.

5. Don’t hold back details about habits or concerns

I understand some things can feel personal or even embarrassing, but I’ve probably heard it all before. Being open and honest means I can give you more effective support. Everything is confidential.

6. Do come with an open mind

Nutritional therapy is about working together to understand what your body needs – not just following arbitrary health ‘rules’. Some of the suggestions might be new to you, but everything will be personalised and explained clearly. Recommendations will be evidence based.

7.
Don’t expect a quick fix

Nutritional therapy is a process, not a one-off solution. You won’t leave the first consultation with all of the answers – but you will leave with a clearer direction and a healthy eating plan for moving forwards.

As part of your registration, I will ask for certain information like your weight and height, your eating patterns, and the names of any medications and supplements you’re taking.

If you have recent blood tests, and you’re happy to share these with me, please do send them in with your questionnaire responses. This gives me useful context and helps me tailor the whole nutrition plan to your individual needs.

I have regular slots for my intro calls – pls drop me a line – or send me a WhatsApp message to book in. I look forward to working with you.

Best wishes,

Sarah
